Nothing Is Over! Here’s Where to Watch All 5 ‘Rambo’ Movies Starring Sylvester Stallone (and Which Ones Are on Netflix!)

Sylvester Stallone takes “great pride” in having portrayed John Rambo — a Vietnam War veteran suffering from PTSD

First Blood marked Stallone’s inaugural Rambo film. It premiered in 1982 and was based on a novel by David Morrell of the same name. However, the movie took a different direction from the written work after the actor suggested that Rambo straddle the lines of society.

“[Rambo] could kill you, but he doesn’t. He chooses just to go to the edge,” Stallone explained at an Experience With event in London in 2020, adding that he wanted to offer service members with PTSD another perspective.

Stallone went on to film four additional Rambo movies, and more recently, he has discussed working on a prequel to First Blood. Until then, fans of the franchise can revisit the action flicks, thanks to Netflix adding a few of them to its streaming library on Feb. 10.

From First Blood to Rambo: Last Blood , here’s where to watch all five Rambo movies.

First Blood (1982)

First Blood premiered on Oct. 22, 1982, and it follows Vietnam vet John Rambo, who travels to a small town in Washington looking for an old friend.

While there, he’s met with intolerance and brutality by the local sheriff, Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy), and his deputies. The events trigger memories of his time as a prisoner of war, and he turns violent.

After escaping police custody, Ramboo flees into the mountains and wages an escalating one-man war against his pursuers.
